What size should I order?

We know it's frustrating trying to find the perfect size, especially when shopping online. Check out our sizing chart here to see how our products fit, so you don't have to stress. You can also contact us or DM us on Instagram if you want help finding your perfect fit.

If one of your products ends up not fitting, we offer size exchanges up to 7 days after delivery.  Please see our returns policy to learn more.

How do I care for my clothing?

Our clothes are made to last, just like our favorite stories. But, like all timeless and special things, they need love and care to withstand the test of time. Each item has care instructions in the product description and on the product's tag, but here are some good guidelines for all products: 

1. Wash your clothes in cold or warm water on the gentle cycle.

2. Wash with like colors. Don't throw a red shirt in with your whites! 

3. Turn your clothes inside out for washing to minimize the possibility of ink fading. 

4. We highly recommend not putting your clothes in the dryer. Let your clothes air dry to keep your clothes soft and minimize possible shrinkage, especially since we offer a lot of 100% cotton options.

5. Lay flat to air dry to keep the shape of the product. If you want your shirt to be a little bigger or longer, let it hang on a hanger to dry - the water can actually stretch out the fabric to make it a little longer!

6. Follow the laundering instructions on the inside label. Some items may be hand-wash only, so be mindful. 

7. Never use bleach or strong detergents, even on white garments.

Is your clothing ethically produced?

Yes! We only partner with manufacturers and printers that are 100% sweatshop-free, WRAP certified, and pay fair wages to employees. One of our core values is social sustainability, which means caring for humans first and foremost. Learn more about our mission here

Is your clothing eco-friendly?

We are constantly striving to do more and be better for Gaia, our Mother Earth. We only use inks and dyes that are Oeko-Tex® certified, meaning they are tested and free from harmful substances (both for the environment and your health). Plus, our inks are water-based and vegan!

Whenever possible, we use 100% cotton or organic cotton for our apparel. Cotton is one of the most sustainable fabrics with minimal water expenditure. You can search for these products in the search bar with the tag "sustainable."

Please note that any "heather" colors have polyester in them. We are striving to provide more eco-friendly materials, but a lot of our customers still want heather options. So the choice is yours!

How do your price your products?

Here's how we price our Quill and Thread luxury products.

1. We create 100% unique mythology-based designs and prints that you can't get anywhere else. (If you can, they're knock-offs or stolen!) 

2. We pay a fair, livable wage to our employees. In fact, most of our designers set their own wages and hours. We believe in socially ethical practices through and through. 

3. We only offer premium, quality goods to our consumers. No cheap products that itch your skin. No harmful substances or dyes. We thoroughly evaluate each of our products for quality and safety. 

4. We strive to provide the best service and experience to our customers. If you're unhappy with your experience, please contact us

Why can't I find a women's or men's section?

Almost all of our products and designs are genderless! We believe that sustainable fashion should be accessible to everyone. If there are exceptions, like a women's fit tee, we will designate the gendered fit in the product title. (still, any gender can still wear it, this is just to help designate a tighter or looser fit.)

Shipping Orders

How long does shipping take?

All of our products are made on-demand to reduce textile waste, so receiving your order may take a little longer. Total time from ordering to delivery can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks, depending on your location. International orders may take longer. We do our best to produce and ship locally  from one of our global partners to cut down on waste and shipping times. Thanks for your patience and for being an eco-warrior with us! These times may be slightly increased as well due to COVID-19 shipping slowdowns. 

You will receive an estimated shipping time at checkout, but this is just an estimate. It is not guaranteed. Orders may be held up due to production or shipping delays. 

Please note that express and overnight shipping will ship faster, but this does not include fulfillment time. We create all items on-demand, so please expect at least 2-7 days for production as well as your shipping time. We will do our best to get the products out to you ASAP!

If your order has not arrived in 30 days, please contact us.

What is the packaging like?

In order to minimize waste, we don't have a lot of extra "fluff" in our boxes. We only use the most basic packaging, and it's 100% recyclable whenever possible (while still maintaining safety procedures and health guidelines to keep you safe during COVID-19). That means you won't necessarily get a lot of extra goodies in your box... except the awesome products you selected! This reduces waste for you and for the environment, while promoting our shared mission of saving Mother Earth. 

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs vary based on the product and your location (some European countries, for example, have higher shipping costs). We are excited to be able to offer free shipping for orders over $100 (not including taxes and fees) with the coupon code FREESHIPPING. 

If you are located outside the U.S., you may be responsible for import duties, customs, and taxes. Quill and Thread, which is located in the United States, does not pay these costs. These will be due at the point of delivery or after. Quill and Thread has no control over duties, customs, and taxes levied by the country your order is being shipped to. Thanks for your understanding! 

Where do you ship to?

We ship all over the globe to mythology lovers just like you! We are a U.S.-based company, but we ship worldwide with a few exceptions. We ship in the USA, most European countries, EFTA states, Canada, Australia/NZ, Japan, and more. We do not ship to Cuba, Crimea, Syria, North Korea, or Iran. There are some additional locations we cannot currently ship to due to COVID-19 regulations by shippers.

Do you ship to PO Boxes?

Sometimes. National postal operators like USPS or Canada Post may be able to deliver to PO Boxes, but a lot of international orders cannot. We suggest you do not ship to a PO Box to minimize lost, canceled, or returned orders. If it is not deliverable, you may be responsible for re-shipping fees.

Can I track my order?

We use USPS (United States Postal Service), FedEx and DHL for deliveries inside the United States and abroad. Once the item has shipped, you will receive a tracking number so you can watch your order make its way to you! 

For international orders: We cannot provide any customs clearance estimates, but in most cases, shipments may spend anywhere from one to three days in customs. Also, any customs or import duties are charged once the order reaches its destination country and these must be paid by the recipient of the order.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, and more. We also accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal express. We do not currently accept money orders, checks, cash, or bitcoin.

We currently only accept USD, but many of our accepted providers will automatically make the currency exchange for you.

What should I do if I didn't receive a confirmation email?

You should receive an order confirmation email after you place an order (thanks for your order!). If you didn't get the confirmation email, please:

1. Check your spam folder. (Open it and let your email provider know it's not spam, so you can keep getting awesome emails from us.)

2. Verify that the email address you provided at the time of order is correct. If it's not, email with your correct email and we'll update your information.

3. Still not sure what's up? Contact us for a confirmation email. 

What should I do if my order was labeled "return to sender?"

If your item is marked "return to sender" in your tracking, a few things could have happened: 

1. The provided address is wrong or info is missing. 

2. The item was sitting in customs and wasn't paid for or picked up in the allotted time. 

3. The addressee was not available at time of delivery. 

Your order will be shipped back to our HQ and we cannot intercept it until it reaches us. Please contact us to have your package re-shipped. In some cases, you may be responsible for paying shipping costs again. 

My order is marked as delivered, but I didn't get it.

If your order is marked as 'delivered' on your tracker number but you have yet to receive it, please:

1. Double check that your provided address is correct. We are not responsible for lost orders due to incorrect address, but you can contact us and we can do our best to help you figure it out.

2. Contact your local post office. (This is usually faster and better than contacting us, since they will have more information). 

3. Ask your neighbors if they got the package by mistake.

4. Contact us


For international orders, if the tracking says your order was delivered but you haven't received it, contact customs. You may need to pick up your package. If the package is not picked up within three days, the order will be returned to us. We can reship your order (after you contact us), but you will have to pay the postage again. All United Arab Emirates orders must provide a PO Box address or the item will not be delivered. 

Where is the rest of my order?

Based on availability, production, location, and an effort to reduce packaging waste, some products may be shipped separately. Check your tracking number to see if it was split into multiple packages. If not and you're still missing an item, please contact us for assistance.


What is your return policy?

 We accept most returns and exchanges if you contact us within 7 days after your shipment delivery date. Please reach out to us if you have a problem with your order, and we will be happy to help. Our system also does not allow for cancellations at this time. If you made a mistake, please contact us as quickly as possible and we will see if we can help.

We're a small, female-owned business with a love for stories and mythology! Most mythologies are about either how humans relate to one another or to nature. That's why we care so much about people and the environment. If we don't treat our home right, there will be no stories to tell. 

That's why we only source merchandise from socially responsible businesses with ethical manufacturing practices. We are constantly striving to make our products and methods more eco-friendly.
